The only #1 the Islanders will be seeing in the near future is the #1 overall draft pick.

LOL... we played springfield today not hartford my bad we won 2-0. So how are the penguins doing this year pretty good. do you go to any games or no. OO yea the AHL are gonna have an outdoor game this year like the NHL that should be cool. We'll talk to you later Brian.

Pens are doing very well, there was a period of time they were slumping and that was mostly due to injury. During that stretch where Malkin, Kunitz, Kennedy were injured for the forwards and the entire defense except for the #7 guy Skoula was injured so there were 6 AHL callups playing D for the pens so yeah they were stinking then.

But now they are winning again and are tied with the Devils for the best record in the NHL.

Where is the AHL outdoor game going to be? That is a good idea for them, AHL is such an attendance driven league and those events are great for it.

I don't get to see penguin games mainly because they're too far away. I thought about going down to NY to catch them when they're playing the rangers or the islanders but I really don't like being a fan of the opposing team. I feel pretty uncomfortable in those situations. I don't want some jerk saying something to me because he doesnt like my penguins jersey or something like that. I think next year I'll probably make a trip to pittsburgh to try to catch a game in their new arena opening up then.

I did catch a few penguins games in the 90's back when they played the Whalers. I got great seats and was able to see Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr up close and in their primes, I am at least happy about that.

I think the outdoor game is gonna be in Binghamton NY. I wasd thinking next year would be cool if it was at Gillete Stadium were the Pats play it is def cold up there in Jan. or Feb. or even closer somewere but will see. Brett you ever play hockey or roller blade hockey I use to play roller hockey for a long time at milford and the covered place in waterbury. Talk to you later Brian

I used to play roller hockey back in middle school and high school. Finding people and places to do it grew more and more difficult as I got older.

I played ice hockey for Bethel Highschool and I also played in a few adult leagues. I havent really played in a few years since I got fat lol, it isnt exactly a sport that is friendly to heavy set people. Last time I tried to play pickup hockey after taking a long break I ended up leaving early to the locker room on my knees throwing up in a toilet. Fun times...

I looked into playing in the adult league at the Shelton rink but it was 400 ish to play and that isnt including the cost to upgrade some of my equipment. It's just too expensive at the moment. I am starting my son in their summer program for kids age 2-6 (he's going to be 2 by then) so maybe I'll get more involved and maybe even help out with the coaching.

LOL yea I know what you mean the more weight I put on the bigger a pain in the *** it was to play. You get tired easy your feet hurt and ankles like you siad I end up getting ****ed and slamming the stick on the ground I use to do stick time in Bridgeport but that was like 4 years ago. talk to you later Brian

back to the original subject at hand, I am going to bob's today to take a look at his new red mandarins he's got coming in. I think I have a stable enough pod population between the 140ish lbs of rock in the display tank and the refugium.

My only hope is that he doesnt just disappear to the rocks rarely to be seen.

Half of Bob's fish got delayed and are showing up today. I went in last night going in for a red mandarin and put a deposit down on a powder blue tang.

It was a little stressed after just arriving so I am going to pick it up today from there. I'll probably head down around the early afternoon.

I picked up the powderblue from him yesterday. He had about 3 red mandarins but they apparently are going fast. Originally I was just going to get a mandarin but then saw his tang and decided to go with that instead.

For clam lovers he also has some squamosas, croceas, and maximas. Bob said he'd be getting some gigas (giant clam) in soon and from what I have read they have been fairly difficult to come by.

yea i was there right when the red's came in and grabed the best looking one it was at 315 pm and i was out the damn traffic was starting to get bad hows the tang doing so far??

He's doing ok, nipping at a few rocks and I saw him eat randomly. He's as skittish though as the Hippo Tang so whenever I come near it both of them bolt to their hiding spots.

Since I switched tanks out a couple of weeks ago I was enjoying a period of time with no coraline algae but now it's started to get on my glass. I remember when I first got into this hobby and I so badly wanted this stuff, now its freaking annoying. I havent really tried to yet but this tank with the fact that it's so high up and it has a eurobrace is going to make for a giant PITA to get that coraline algae off.

Well, today I noticed the powderblue hiding in the rockwork even after the lights came on. He was acting a bit strange and then later today I noticed him stiff in the rocks and a hermit crab going over to him. I pulled him out and he was dead. All my water parameters are perfect, no nitrates or ammonia, 8.3 ph and all of the other critters are just fine. He was eating too, I have no clue... I don't suppose there is some sort of guarantee ?!?

I'm sure he would do something I mean what the hell theres no reason for that fish to die in 3 days in a heathy tank I would want an exchange too get some other fish though. Good Luck let me know whats up or call him on the phone there open to 6pm today .Brian

Gooch79: I had a similar problem with a butterfly fish from him.
Good slow aclimation, great water parameters, and all other fish doing great
(I had him for only about 36 hours)
Bob gave me a good ear listening, but mentioned no garantee on it. :mad2:
I am however hopefull that he will give me significant discounts on future purchases.
Only time will tell, so I have to wait and see... :hmm6:

I understand his side of things. He doesnt get his money back from the supplier on fish that die in our custody so he basically eats that loss out of pocket. It's not a habit someone that is probably on a tight bottom line wants to get into. I called him up and he told me that another batch is coming in a week from now and he'll "work something out" with me. I have no clue what that means but I guess we'll see.

Nope. We bought a goby in July that didn't make it 24 hours and there was no guarantee. It may have just been stress from the shipping. I think House of Fins is the only place with a guarantee.
