We got in 100 last week, but i think we lost most of them. We just can't seem to keep these. They are very hardy snails, but just can't seem to survive the shipping trip.
You might call Jeremy or Cory tomorow 317-895-9005 and see if they have any left in the tanks. If you order, be sure they note to ship them 5 per bag, increases your chances.

I'm sure you already know this, but do you do a really slow acclimation with them? Snails are super sensitive to changes in specific gravity. They are great snails and long-lived once acclimated.

We do about a 2 to 3 hour slow drip on them right now. I was thinking of trying a super slow drip overnight on them. Probably is when wholesalers ship you snails, they ship in one big bag and usually the water is fouling, so often slow drip doesn't work because the water is turning so bad, but i'll try longer next time and see how they do.

Just as a note........the wholesaler and myself narrowed it down to a shipping problem (ie...too many per bag). We have more of the wild Tiger's arriving Wednesday night, so we'll see how they do.

Our last shipment, even with the extra water and bagging still did very poorly, so i'm debating on even getting these anymore. Great snail once in the tank, but i hate to see so many lost in shipping. So we'll do a little research on these, if we can't come up with a better method, we'll have to quit carrying them.

I was considering getting a clean-up crew, but was wondering if they may be in danger from what I have now in there. I have a 125g with a Volitan lionfish, a Behn's damsel, 2 green chromis, a zebra moray eel, a chocalate chip starfish, and 3 hermits. Should I be concerned? Are the eel and starfish going to be a problem for any of the clean-up crew?

I think your volitan will leave the snails alone, might look at a hermit from time to time, but usually they won't pay any attention to them. The eel i'm not sure though, i would say if anything would be a problem it would be the eel. If you keep him well fed though, probably won't bother with the hermits.

Try shipping them with wet newspaper only. Just have the wholesaler dip a folded up piece of newspaper in saltwater and place it in the bag with no additional water. You can put about 15 in a bag. This keeps them wet enough and keeps them from fouling the water. It works great for us. Try a test with 15 to see if it works.

We've tried that as well, and still to no avail. That is how we have been shipping all of our other snails/hermits for the last few years. We are going back to the tank raised, which unfortunately can not flip themselves over, but still do a pretty good job of eatting up around the tank.
