If the corals touch, there will be warfare. You might see some allelopathy if they get close.

better to leave some room between them.

A smart reefer would isolate green star polyps to its own rock, separated from any other rock in the tank... otherwise, in time, all your rock and coral will be covered in GSP. Same with most Xenia...

I don't keep lps, but I do have plenty of leathers and gsp. They can be near each other without problems, except the gsp will actually grow up over the leathers and smother them. I've had to peel the gsp off the sides of my leather corals. As long as you keep a eye on it, you will be fine.

Try to isolate those GSP at all costs. I like them but they will take over the entire tank. They grow over top of everything in their path.

I made that mistake and now 50% of my rock work is covered with the stuff.

fwiw, if you like gsp like I do, place a piece of it near the back wall of your tank and let it grow on the back wall. Looks cool blowing in the current.

But the LPS being a stony coral: generally stonies dont play nice with softies, so keep the stonies and softies apart as a rule.

i also used to have a caulastrea and sinularia share the same space, just at different times. the sin was open for the day, the caulastrea at night. maybe the caulastrea trained the sinularia in the dark to chill heh
