Mario if something like this happens it would be best to call the LFS you bought it from and then take them some water so they could test it just to make sure your parameters are in line. They may do it.

I kinda doubt it. It just goes with the marine territory of no guarentee. Trust me I know it sucks. I had a Bamboo shark that died 24hrs after placing him in my tank once. It was a 100.00bucks gone.

It is a good idea to ask the LFS what their parameters are like before you take your new critter home. If nothing else find out what the salinity is like. That should really be the only thing that may differ.

doesn't hurt to ask. They are pretty good over at ebay, they might help you out.

are you sure he died? I know that sounds stupid but those shrimp always molt after being placed into a new home and sometimes the molt looks exactly like the shrimp is dead.

Your best bet is to go to ebay and buy the ATC-10 slainity refractometer. They are 20 bucks, work great. The 20 dollar one calibrates with a small screwdriver...new style use a thumbscrew but they are a little more money. I may have 5 new ones to sell at the swap only. I am awaiting word back from my supplier as to shipping to me.
