HI,
I'm getting ready to start a reef tank after the new year. This will be my first and I don't speak 'reef' yet, so I need some really basic help and advice for equipment, etc. Below is what I have and what I plan to buy.
purchased:
JBJ 24g DX nano
standard pump (266gph)
standard lights (2X 36watt CF 50/50 lamps and the LED nite-vu lamps)
this was the floor model and the 'included' surface skimmer was missing...what do i need to replace it?
plan to purchase (to get started):
heater and thermometer (what kind?)
reef test kit (what kind?)
premixed water from LFS
live sand and live rock from LFS
I want to have only corals for a few months before adding fish, so i need equipment that can support corals. my ultimate goal for this tank, over time of course, is 3-4 small fish, inverts, and a blue maxima clam (my favorite!).
I will take any suggestions for equipment and books! I've been reading in the forums for days and feel pretty little lost right now! I want to do this in the most responsible way! Help!
THanks,
Beloufish
