As the title states my number 8 outlet on my EB8 is not working. Is this a common problem and how exactly do I fix it? I have never used that particular outlet until I decided to add another piece of equipment today and it says it is on but the outlet has no power.

What kind of equipment? 4 and 8 are relay outlets. You need to use them for something that draws more current.

I thought it was the other way around - Relays (4 and 8) for low draw and triacs for the rest??? I had to relocate a evap fan to #8 as using other outlets, it would turn on - but not off. Not sure if this would be problem in the OP.

Well it didn't work with my 250w halide or with a aqualifter pump so I hit it with both strong and weak draws.

It doesn't matter what the draw is on outlets 4 & 8. They are mechanical relays. Those outlets also tolerate higher amperage, 10A each as compared to 5A on the triac's (15A total for the EB8 of course).

If you've rebooted the EB8 and if it shows Manual ON in the status and you still have nothing, I'd call Neptune. There might be some way to telnet in and wake it up but I don't know.

Any other ideas on this? I still have a dead outlet.
