How to wash used sand?

wanted to see your thoughts,

Its the 1-2mm size, I just got the idea while typing this to use another filter bag, I have the 100m size and dump it in and then run water thru it.

Im not sure! Ideas are appreciated! (i didnt get anything good from search :( )

Put it in a bucket, fill it up with water, stir it around, suck out or drain the water, repeat till the water is clear.

I had a bucket full that I put on a sheet in the driveway and rinsed with the garden hose. I then let it air dry. The sheet allowed me to move the sand around to help ensure that I got all the junk out.

Put it in a bucket then with hose at a good flow level will make it easier to clean as it'll move the sand in front of it and allow you in and out very easily.
