Which return Quiet One 3000 or Mag Drive 7?

I will be using as a return in my sump with an Eshopps PF-800 overflow 800gph max. Would like pump to be quiet but more importantly I want it to be reliable. Which one starts back better after a power outage? Grim suggested the Mag 7.

Mags are very reliable (from everything I've read and from personal experience). They are electricity hogs however. Not exactly quiet however.

Agreed. I like Mags as well, got a Mag 7 on my skimmer, good pump, but they are not quiet.

Eheim pumps. a little more money but more efficient and less heat build up.

i'll be running the 1260 with a 700 gph glass-holes overflow.

mag 7. to silence it i cut out 2 pieces of plastic tubing, run a zip tie through it and tie it to the bottom of the pump. Most of the noise is absorbed through the tubing, so its quiet

Any chance you could mod to an external? I have had all sizes of Mags and QO's and now that I use an external I would never go back. (I would chose the Mag over the QO if I had to choose)
