What would make a tunze suck water instead of blowing the water? IS there any way to fix it?

Hmmm... Nanostream? I've heard of a few doing this. Have you tried unplugging & replugging it? I think it will right itself. I don't recall what the cause is.

On my Tunze's (I can't recall the model but they're the AC non-controllable pumps) the pumps are prevented from starting in reverse by having the prop blades hit the front inside of the housing if they start in reverse. If the blade tips get chipped off, the blades are free to start in either direction. I sometimes have to restart mine 2-3 times before they're running right.

Roger Vitko over on the Tunze forum here on RC can send you new props, that'll fix your problem at least for a while. Unfortunately mine are chipped again and I haven't gotten around to seeing if i can get new blades.
