I have a fairly large aquarium and was wondering if mixing these 2 can be done?

"Black" perculas are actually a melanistic morph of ocellaris clownfish. You can pair black ocellaris with orange ocellaris, since they are the same species. There are also "onyx" perculas, which have much more black on their bodies than "regular" percs, but they still aren't all black.
Some people (most notably Dr. Sanjay Joshi) have also successfully paired and even bred black ocellaris and percula clownfish.

Yup you should have no problems doing that in a larger tank.

Thank you for stating this. I see so many people calling black and white ocellaris percula....
Please define a large tank. I have a 150 gallon 48X30X24, and would not attempt it. I have had percs, and skunks. Right now im down to just percs but going to add a pair of Amphiprion nigripes(blackfoot). Im just trying to find the nem i want.....
If you do try it, make sure to give each pair a nem on opposite ends of the tank....

Another one of my pet peeves is the term "false percula". It's the industry's fault, not hobbyists', but I still hate it because it's unnecessarily confusing. "Ocellaris" is really not that hard to pronounce.
Actually, the reliance on made-up names instead of scientific ones in general irritates me (it's annoying to ask a LFS employee what an animal is and have them be able to give you anything but the common name), but don't even get me started on that!
