Hi, I was wanting to get an opinion on what skimmer is better. I was looking at either the Octopus 200 w/ the bubbleblaster 3000 pump (super reef Octopus 3000) or the xp-2000?. I know the xp-2000 has a smaller bubbleblaster pump. With the octo 200 looking to have a bigger body and bigger pump I am not sure which skimmer performs better. Which skimmer would handle more bioload? Thank you very much for any help with this.

I think they are both excellent protein skimmers. The XP-2000 obviously has the cone design which is very efficient, however the added volume of the 200 is going to push it over the XP-2000 in terms of capacity in my opinion. If this is going on a smaller tank, I honestly don't think it would matter which way you go. HTH!

Hi Jeremy, I may try to give you a call tommorow. Which SRO 3000 or XP-2000 would you recommend for a high bioload 75 gal. sps tank? I know the XP-2000 needs to run in 6" of water, do you think the SRO 3000 can run in deeper than that water like the regular Octo 200? Thank you very much as always.
