Hi, I bought today two Philips Mini Twister 6500 Daylight.
Have anyone used this stuff in the reef tanks?

On the package it says

2600 Lumens
42 Watt
6500 Kelvin
Hg (mercury)
It provides a bright white light.

There are new compact fluorescent = 150 watt old bulbs.

I use the 23W version on my fuge. Works great.

Works fine for a fuge. You could use them in a small tank to grow softies but they will look pretty yellow compared to normal reef lighting.

hi i was thinking using them in my display tank as extra of what i already have;

I have four xT8 x 40 watt
two T5 x 21 watt

My only concern is since I don't know anything about the spectrum of this light and the impact on corals i don't want to do something bad including killing my Coraline that's is about to build on all my live rocks. It looks nice though and very close to some metal halides effects I've seen on other tanks.
But SFeSt is right; it brings a yellowish color in my tank and now the cool bluish color is almost gone.
