I need to splash some color in my tank with something other than green. Everything I have is green...Zoos, torch, frogspawn, even my bta is neon green :lol2:

Everything I've seen so far in red or yellow is either sps or non photosythetic. So if anyone has any suggestions on softies or lps corals I would appreciate it.

Btw, I have 1 nice orange Zoo branch, and I know Zoos are very diverse in color, and I do plan on adding more Zoos, but I was wanting some lps (if possible) also.

thanks a bunch!

There are some pretty cool colored Scolymias on the market right now. Try Acans, too.

On the whole, corals are mostly green. Even most sps stuff is green. Take a look at vivid aquariums SPS WYSIWYG gallery: http://www.vividaquariums.com/wysiwygCoral.asp?Category=Coral+And+Invertebrates:WYSIWYG%20SPS%20Colonies

Lobos, welso, and trachys are all open brains you can add. Acan Lords would also be a good option for you.

Here are some of my pink acans:

maybe you should try some sort of cyphastrea. They look like an encrusting montipora except they have big polyps.

How about a red open brain

Now your talkin

I forgot about open brains, they do come in all kinds of colors.

I will check out scolys too.

Now, where would you suggest buying online? My lfs doesnt get too much in red or orange, mostly green so I will have to order online but this is my first time at it, but it seems like the only way I will get what I am looking for.

Just put this open brain in my tank and now all my other corals look pale. Got it from an LFS.

I have the same problem with lots of green, but here's a cool orange and yellow open brain I have. It is at least twice as big now. http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/zz258/chartwell1/Cadlights%20Build/openbrain-1.jpg?t=1262656107

Softies - yellow polyp (cheap, easy, grows fast) and red mushrooms (same). Not too exotic, but they add some nice color. LPS - someone already mentioned acans, I'll add my +1. You can get some really bright colors with those.

LPS can have some INSANE colors. Acans, Chalices, Scolys, brains...

Check out Cherry Corals (they're a sponsor here too) for some great looking acans. I just ordered several from their myself.

If you are still looking for an online place to buy corals, try coral-addiction.com

I ordered from them, and found out they were just 10 miles from me, so requested a pickup of my order so iIcould check it out.

He has an absolutely incredible assortment. He usually updates his web page every week or so with new ones, and these things are incredible! Plus, when I talked to him I really got a good impression. He's a true hobbyist with a love for corals, so will not sell anything that isn't absolutely healthy. I will never be buying corals from anyone else.

No pics of the Orange Torch yet. It's just a small frag now, but it's pretty nice bright orange with actinics on.
