Hi!

Well, after seeing the success of MatesonG's thread, I was wondering if anyone in the Ormond Beach area would be interested in starting a local club? I know there's ORCA, one in Tampa, and one or two in Jacksonville, but for me it's a bit of a haul to any of them... I know there are a number of reefers in this area so it may have potential... Like MatesonG had said, if it doesn't fully turn into a true club, at least some of us local people have some good contacts in case of emergency! So, anyone who would be Interested in this, post!

You just started it. Put your name down as president and go with it, lol. Stick a posting up in CL and get some names from there too.

Good luck with it.

Well, I don't think I could manage it though. The IB program can get quite demanding at times... I would certainly be able to attend however I don't think I could assume full responsibilty for the club... That's somebody else's honor! ;)

not really, i mean im in high school! If you've ever been to the bluewater reef on nova, lots of locals go there. Perhaps you could put a flyer up?

What high school do you go to?? I go to Creek... I'm at bluewater reef a couple times each week. In fact, I'm going in this evening to bring in some frags...

oh, seabreeze for me. i hear creeks better. my buddy colby went there. What frags? i may be interested!
but yeah talk to bradley or charles im sure they know loads of people locally who are more than likely interested in a club of sorts!

Creek has IB. Otherwise I'd probably be at Seabreeze... I'm bringing in a massive green star polyp colony and (if all six have attatched) 6 finger leather frags. Yeah, I'll have to!

bet you wish your mascot was a sandcrab...
im in AP, not really sure of the differences between that and the IB.
Do you get college credit?

Haha I do!

IB is more rigorous and once completed, it counts for a full year of college.

BUMP! I still think this has potential considering there are 4 LFSs in this area who carry saltwater... 5 if you count PetCo...

The resurrection of this thread! I'm going to put in a thing for a club at Bluewater Reef, one of the LFS's around here tomorrow...

I'm in Port Orange and would definitely be interested! Getting a club started in this area would be great. By the way I'm a Creek graduate of 2002 which makes me feel pretty old right about now lol.

Hey, that's true! This club wouldn't have to be limited to Ormond. This whole area, Port Orange, Daytona, etc. If you know anyone who'd be interested, feel free to try to get them in. If we can get about a dozen or more people, then I'd suggest we call a meeting.

Haha, I love Creek. Two more years of it...
