I have a 10G nano with a 65w PC fixture on it. Is that enough to keep any species of clam? I think they are beautiful and I do understand that some grow amazingly large but I have plans to add a 70+ gallon set-up in the future. Any input would be helpful. Thanks!

get better lighting, but a derasa or squammie might do ok, but either will sooooooon outgrow the tank

I will have MH/T5 mix on my larger tank when I get my tax refund, but I dont see the point in buying an expensive 20" T5 fixture for a nano. PC is by far the most economical lighting at that size that I have seen. Anywho, thanks for the input!

+1 You can maybe keep a squamosa or derasa, but will need to move it soon due to growth.

get ready to dose the hell out of calcium, and a clam can appear to be doing fine under pc's for months and slowly suffer and die of starvation.

I kept a crocea under pc's for nearly a year before switching to MH. The clam seemed to do just fine for the time under the pc's but did much better under the MH.
