X-10 on AC3 has a mind of its own

I have an X-10 setup piggybacked of my DC-8. The X-10 only controls my T-5 lights (72" constellation w/3 stitches). Every once and a while 1 of the switches will randomly switch off then 15min later back on. The X-10 and DC-8 are a good 10' apart connected with a 25' phone wire. I always check the x-10 unit when this happens and there is no heat involved. Any suggestions on what could be causing this problem?

I changed the cable to a gold plated 6pin nice radio shack wire and I'm still getting the same problem. Any other suggestions.
