While I am redoing my sump, there are alot of worms inside the cheato, should I clear them, dip them in fresh water? Or they are good as long as they are in the sump.

It depends on what type of worms you are talking about. Do you have a better description or better yet a picture of these worms?

I believe they are the bistol worms, red/orange in color.

They were given a bad rap, I think because if you get pricked by one it will hurt and maybe end up in the emergency room. But they tend to keep to themselves and eat waste.

Kinda sorta, it's actually because of the Jamaican fireworm, which is a type of bristleworm, that causes something like near-instant necrosis upon contact with your skin. The ones you find in a fuge though are more than likely simply going to give you a slightly annoying rash unless you're allergic.

They are a good reason to get in the habit of wearing gloves when you do anything in your tank or sump.
