Adding a sump to a solana

I have a 34 Solana and I am thinking about adding a sump style to increase the water volume and serve as a refugium. I don't want to drill it as I don't want to disturb the inhabitants.

Has anyone added a hang on overflow and run it to a sump in the stand? I use the crappy glass cover to prevent my wrasse from jumping out.

Try LifeReefs they make overflows for the really small tanks.
