Anyone have a link to where I can find a simple 40 gallon breeder stand. Been looking at 2nd hand stores, CL, LFS which have been overpriced lately. Dont have the tools or room in my studio to build one so I'm stuck buying. I am located in Northern CA so any thoughts are welcome thanks.

I used a stand for a 75 with a double layer of 3/4 ply on top. Allowed me to use a 30g as a sump.

Check out Ikea. You could use a 36" base cabinet without the legs. They would make a great looking stand I think.

I used an ikea cabinet on a 29g once and it sagged a lot, I mean a lot. I ended up having to cut a bunch of 2x's and wedging them inside. They are made of really cheap flakeboard.

That is suprising since most of the junk you get from big box pet stores are also made of press board.

The top rims of aquarium stands are usually actual wood boards that will resist sagging and twisting and only need vertical support along the length. Ikea uses flakeboard for the top piece as well, and it is a flat board as opposed to a board on edge, making it pretty much useless.
