Guys i am looking at getting a scissortail or diamond goby. I know some of these species eat sand and exhaust it through their gills when searching for food. Would it be a bad idea to put them in my tank that has a crushed coral "sand" bed? Will i starve them?
thanks in advance
matt

Hey matt.
This is matt. ha In my experience, which was one diamond goby, if you DO NOT have a nice deep sand bed of some normal or fine grit sand, the goby WILL NOT be able to survive. They need a place they can dig cave to live in. The goby will clean their cave and clean some sand in your tank as well. Do some research before adding fish.

A sand sifter will not be happy with crushed coral.
