Im going to cycle it in a Rubbermaid tub prior to setting up my new tank.

Should I add a raw shrimp for ammonia to start the cycle?

Should I just add some live rock from my current tank and let it sit in the tub for circulation for a few weeks?

What is the best method to cycle/cure dry rock? What has worked well for you?

I have the same rock from bulk reef supply. I put it in brute trash cans with ro water and salt mix with pumps and let it do this for a couple days then dumped the water and repeated again with new water. My rock had a lot of stuff in it, like sponges and other dead stuff. After that I put it in my tank. I have only put a few pieces of live rock in the tank now to hopefully seed it.
