How long do you leave your lights on?

As the title suggests, I'm curious to know just how long you all keep your lights on every day, I'm in the process of starting up my first marine tank and I've seen people recommending everything from 5-15 hours daily! any help would be appreciated

I usually keep mine on for about 10 hours a day. I used to keep them on for 12 but it made hair algae grow pretty quickly. Reduced the amount of time and it seems to have helped.

I turn lights on and off in intervals every 10 minutes so I it's from 10-12 hours/day depend on set and when he's turned on and off..

actntic on 10 hrs 230-1230
daytime on 8 hrs 330-1130

daytime 11am-9pm
moonlight 1030pm-10am

so im at 9 hours toal.

moonlights are 1030 - 6

I do MH from 2pm - 10pm, 8 hours total. Everything is healthy in my tank and I get pretty good growth.
