Blue hippo tang ?

I have a blue hippo tang (Dori) that some times turns a yellow shade.
Is it normal?
He seems to do it some times after he eats or when the lights come on. It seems to me he does it when hes happy or is it some type of behavior for mating purposes?

Also after he eats he goes to the water surface and takes in air and than releases air bubbles from his mouth. Again is that normal?

I have had him for six months at least and had gotten him from a fellow reefer so he should be about a year and a half old now. Hes healthy and fat.

Is the yellow on his belly? if so you have what is called a yellow belly Hippo.

If not it is most likely stress related but should not hurt anything. Mine change color all the time. One of them also does the air bubble release thing too.

no not yellow on his belly. its the black part of his body and top fin that turns yellowish. i dont believe its stress. when he is stressed he gets white dots that look like ich but its not ich its goes away shortly afterwards.

It can be stress, Mine have turned all white when stressed.

The lights coming on can stress the fish so can feeding if there are other fish near it.

I would think maybe if it's when turning on the lights it's a type of natural defense with sunrise sunset to blend in more from predatory attacks. Idk though, I've just read of other species of fish doing this idk if it would apply to this one. Jmo and guess
