I need to put some new lights in my 36" long reef tank. It's about 6" taller than a 40g regular. I used to have a PC retro fit in the canopy but they are broken. Here is the bottom line

1) Would like to keep lights inside canopy if possible (retrofit). The canopy is normal height and not tall like the MH looking ones.
2) I don't have a chiller and don't plan on getting one.
3) I have kept LPS, soft, and monti's under my PC fine in the past but would like the best option for these. The tank will be a reef tank with a very small amount of fish.

Thanks for the help.

I would do a 6 x 39 watt AI T5 retro kit from reefgeek.

what are the dimensions (I dont know the height and width of a 40g regular. I assume significantly taller than a breeder though). What are the dimensions front to back. If its 18" like a breeder 6x39w T5 would be ideal but if its 6" taller because its narrow front to back (like a 36"x12" footprint) 250wX2 DE MH with compact reflectors or 5x39w are a better physical fit.
