I use the older version of the recirc and its great. if you can fit the taller skimmer i would go recirc in case you decide to upgrade tanks later in the future. Check the mod threads on both of those skimmers. The 200 is easily modded to greatly increase performance, most mods are very easy to do.

so is recirc over all better (given same pump and skimmer size and tech)??

How much harder is it to adjust?

I am between the:
2009 octo extreme 200
Super Reef Octo 1000
2009 ocoto recir 2000

I honestly dont know about adjuting one v the next. The recirc adjuts water height and feed volume, versus the regular that adjusts just water height. I hardly fittle with mine at all.

The recirc allows the water to stay in contact with the air for a longer period of time which can help skimmate production and can be run externally of the sump. Im certainly not the expert on it. I would try to search for the nw200 threat, 1000+ posts of info on both the recirc and the standard.

BTW I like the fallout3 guy!
