View Full Version : Live rock on tank bottom

I love the footprint of 40 gallon breeders, and I was wondering about the possibility of an idea I had. I for some reason would really like there to be a very flat slope of live rock from the back left corner of the tank reaching to the front right, but only making it about 3/5 of the way there, to the right of that just being an exposed sand bed. Would this covered sand cause a problem with anything? The sand bottom underneath wouldn't be inaccessable to my crabs and shrimp, There will be large gaps and crags and caves in it.

Basically 3/5 of the tank would be live rock on the bottom, instead of a wall of it on the back wall. Trying to keep up a shallow reef theme.

seems like it would work. how do you plan on raising the corner?
