The 6 foot XR6 is a foot longer than your tank. I would recommend running the 4 foot Infinity 4x250w DSE or DDE pendant. This fixture is 6" shorter per side than your tanks length and would allow you to raise the fixture slightly granting you coverage from front to back without light spill out the ends of the tank.

I am not clear on what you are asking but if it is regarding light coverage than you may or may not have to raise the light slightly higher for 44" width. It is something you would need to experiment with and will depend on your aquascape and personal preference.
