I have a return pump that was used in a FW tank for several years. The tank was treated for white spot once. From memory (not certain though) it was a Sera medication. I'm sure it had methylene blue in it - don't know what else.

I'd like to be able to use the pump again on a reef tank.

Question is, if I soaked this pump in RO water with a lot of vinegar for a few days, would I be able to leach out any residual meds that may have plated onto the pump?

Thanks for your time!

I would think that vinegar would do the trick. Not 100 percent sure though.

I'd just soak it in straight vinegar for 24 h and I expect it will be good to go. :)
