Hello,
Newbie here :) Looking for fellow reefers in the Dayton, OH area. I would be interested in joining a local club or maybe just have someone close that could give advice as I am trying to learn as much as I can about this great and very addicting hobby:bounce2:

Thanks,
~Jen

I am not in Dayton, but just a few miles south in Mason. I too am not a member of any of the good local clubs, but I do attend the frag swaps that everyone has. Both Cincinnati and Columbus have nice clubs. One of these days I am going to join the Cincinnati club.

Do you guys know of any good shops to buy corals and fish at around here? I really like Gerber's Saltwater Warehouse, they have a pretty good collection. It's been awhile and I don't even know if it's still there, but I bought a few fish at Aquariums Etc. in Centerville. Seemed like a nice place and the staff seemed like they knew there stuff.

HI,
Also check out saltgeeks.com, this is another local club that is starting to take off. We meet monthly with no cost. We always have frags to pass out.

Also for stores, check out Coral Ranch and Aquatic Specialists, both are great stores and super owners!!

Sweet, my hubby has family in New Lebanon, so that gives me a reason to head up that way, lol then I can say "hey honey, since we're up this way...". Might try to do that this week or next.

Newark here just a lil east of Columbus. Joining a local reef club was a great idea. I have gotten such good help it was well worth the very small membership.

Nothing wrong with Gerbers, but I like Marine Solutions in Waynesville and Phishy Business in Columbus and you can not beat Premium Aquatics either. Only takes a day to get stuff from Premium since they are so close.

Probably should save up your money for the good frag swaps that come up.
