I have a buddy who bought a nice used reef setup, but when he got home, the tank leaked, so I wound up getting the only livestock that came with the tank-- a small damsel, a few hermits, and two sea stars.

They are tiny, about 1" at the most.

Are these sand sifters?

Either way, I will keep them until his tank is up and running, and I'll probably give them back (and the damsel!) since my tanks are almost bare-bottoms and only 20 and 25g each--- not enough to house sand sifters, long term.

Note: these are healthy 5-legged stars---- one of the legs is hidden in the photo.

If it has 5 legs (I cant tell from the pic) it looks to be a common BROWN SEA STAR.
