New skimmer

Greetings,

well, though I have a Turboflotor 1000 multi that works quite well, I went ahead and for $20 on a strange eBay auction I bought a skimmer that was labeled Resun, but looks so much like a Coralife Super Skimmer for 220G. It has in internal venturi right before the bubbles disperser.
Has anyone tried this type of skimmer ?
Is this of any good ?
What type of pump will take (CSS recommends 650 -750 ghp) ?

I have one of those, except it's about the size of the Coralife 220.

I was given this skimmer by a guy who has more spare reef equipment than I have hair on my head.


I'm coming to the conclusion that this is NOT a Coralife skimmer.

You say yours was a "Resun" so I'll look into that.


Here is my thread, hopefully someone can chime in.


My skimmer, FWIW, has apparently seen some HEAVY use by the amount of crud that was in it (ie, neglected).


I'm going to hook it up to a Quiet One 4000 (1,000gph) and see what happens (a black hole?).
