Cuke in deep sand bed?

I have a remote deep sand bed with about 12" or sugar fine aragonite and a wad of chaeto growing on top. I was wondering if a cucumber in there would do the sand some good by cleaning the top surface and keeping the sand surface stirred up. Are there any downfalls to this arrangmeent?
