I got red bugs...but I dont want to treat my whole tank because I have a lobster that I dont want to lose that will be close to impossible to get out. I also dont want to desimmate my pod population because I have a mandarin.

Will removing infected corals and dipping them be good enough?

Also...if doing this dip method, what size inteceptor should I get? I assume still get the one for large dogs, just use smaller amount.

I'm guessing that the lack of growth and stuggle of color from my smooth SPS's is because the red bugs are bothering them.

Thanks for any advice

Red bugs are a pain. I would really try to get the lobster out and buy some tiger pods online to feed the mandarin. QT the mandarin and the lobster and just have at it with the interceptor on the main tank. It will be worth the extra effort and expense to be done with the red bugs for good. Then just be very careful about treating everything that comes into the tank.

I had red bugs as well. I did not complete the treatment and was re-infected by them, so spend the time to catch all inverts that you want to keep and treat for 3 wks

I agree, treat the entire tank or you will be repeating the process in the coming months. Red bugs are everywhere not only on your acropora which is why the treatments calls for you to have Interceptor run through all of your equipment. You will also need to perform the entire 3 week treatment to insure getting the adults in week one, newly hatched in week two and then any remaining hatchlings, not sure that is the correct term, before they can lay eggs. Good luck.

You'll never be totally rid of them, without treating your entire tank.
