running ro/di w/ new filters for the first time

Hey guys,
I just replaced the filters and membrane on my ro/di unit. It's been running for an hour and a half or so, and it's steadily pumping out waste water, but the di canister (which is the last stop) is only about half full. Mysteriously, the trash can the usable water is going into has some water in it. This confuses me.

So I guess my question is, is it normal for the di canister to take a while to fill up, and, secondly, how is water bypassing that canister to hit the exit line?

My Di canister is clear and it has never filled up with water. The inside where the DI is does tho.

Ohhh, so it fills on the inside of the tube then? That makes perfect sense.

mine does the same. i just dont have enough pressure to fill entire canister. but tds is 0 coming out:)
