I have to do some work on the sump of my aquarium and need to shut it down for a bit. How long will it be ok like that, the flow in the display will still be there just no sump skimmer and gfo.

You could shut it down for days as long as you have good in-tank flow & plenty of surface agitation. Many run without sumps.

It will be fine for quite some time... and I would venture to say indefinitely. If you plan on being more than 6 hours, you might want to toss a heater in the display tank. I would just recommend not feeding during this time.

Thank you I just wanted to be sure that if I ran into any unforeseen issues that my fish would be ok.
