View Full Version : Heliofungia - not doing well, should I frag off bad area?

As you can see it's shrunken in for a few months now ever since I had a salinity drop. But now it's been infected (I have a cyano problem) and I don't know if I should quarantine in fresh SW, or frag and Quarantine, or dip in Iodine.

I dipped it in Lugols and it's worse than ever after coming out of the dip.

No amount of dipping is going to save that plate. Just leave it be and maybe it will start budding some sm. plates. Sorry I know it is frustrating.

If that was Heliofungia, as opposed to Cycloseris or Fungia, then they often don't do well in aquaria and are among the more difficult corals to keep in the hobby longterm.

Heliofungia are very difficult corals to keep. Best left in the wild
