Is a 65g oceanic (older tank) tempered on the sides? bottom? I don't think it is just because of the glass thickness, but I thought I'd ask before I ruin it. :)

POSSIBLY on the bottom, but very unlikely on the sides.

i just drilled a 65 gallon oceanic on the back panel because the bottom panel was tempered, i used the polarized glass lense method to determine if it was tempered, is it 3/8" glass? the one i drilled was

I'm not familiar with that technique to determine if it is tempered. Do you have any other details or a link?
I'll check the thickness a bit later when I get home. I might just drill it on the back anyway to be safe.

DO NOT drill the bottom, it is tempered, all other panels are not...
