Hi

I have a heavily stoucked 45 gal. fowler tank and need some help choosing
a protein skimmer.I have no skimmer on the tank at this point. I do have some picked out. I just need you guys to tell me which one is the best.

NOTE: I have a limeted sump space of 7.5 in. x 6 in..

NOTE: I don't really want to look at a pump in the tank.

Here are the hob skimmers:

Eshopps Hang-On PSK-100H Protein Skimmer :D

CPR AeroForce Recirculating Protein Skimmer :crazy1:

Elos Natural Skimmer NS500 Protein skimmer :bounce1:

Deltec External Protein Skimmer MCE600 :eek2:

Precision Marine HOT-1 Venturi protein skimmer

OK now here are the in-sump skimmers:

Marineland Advanced In-Sump pro 100 protein skimmers :worried:

SWC Xtreme 120 Cone Protein Skimmer :reading:

Here goes the exturnal protein skimmer:

Deltec External Protein Skimmer APH525 :spin3:

Hydor Performer Protein Skimmer 400 :spin3:

Thank You

I asked a similar question over in the equipment section, and was told by the resident skimmer expert that the Warner Marine H1 & H2 are some of the best out right now. They are a little bit more expensive ($300 for the H2) than some other HOB's, but they are supposed to be very good.

Can't go wrong with that one.

Deltec by a landslide - either hang-on, in sump or a external. Their MCE skimmer is definitely the only hang on skimmer that can hold it's own next to an in-sump skimmer.

Hi

Thanks guys

I thought the WM skimmers were not that great, and I thought that
ELOS AND DELTEC WERE ONE OF THE BEST SKIMMERS OUT THERE.

if you can afford, get any of the deltecs, or if the cone fits, thats a good one too.

I However, really like my eshopps. Different realms of the deltecs.
