Hello all just trying to decide on which angel I will go with and am down to these two. I really really like the eibli, but what do you think is the hardier and why? From what Ive read the nod could go to the CB. Not interested in the reef safe aspect of either fish just what would be the hardier of the two. Any and all responses much appreciated......Thanks

I've had a CB before and they are pretty hardy. It could be a bit of a bully from time to time

I think the CB will be easier on your corals too...

My first fish was a CB and it lived about 3 years. Was a very easy fish. Don't know about the Eibli, I never had one.

CB for me too...I think it's potentially hardier, a better "reef" candidate and all around a better "looking" fish. I currently have a CB in my 125 and, like others I've had over the years, it's proven to be a good fish...hardy, not overly aggressive and other than the occasional nip at the tentacles on my Trachy brain it hasn't bothered anything including clams.

Thanks for input. Seems CB is the way to go. Nobody keeping eiblis I guess. lol

I had a Coral Beauty, it was a coral nipper so I traded it back in to the lfs. I currently have an Eibli X Half Black hybrid, it has not bothered my corals but it is aggressive toward the other fish in the tank. I plan on moving it to a different tank if I can ever catch it.
Its a hard fish to get a picture of, always moving and a little shy when people are right at the glass.

I have a eiblii mimic tang--but he's gray outlined in blue now! That's him in the center--it looked just like the butterfly 2 years ago!

i'd go eiblii if youre not worried about reef safe. everyones got a coral beauty. i have never had one but i like the way they look. i also like the hybrid above. Not sure which is hardier, but most dwarf angels seem to be pretty hardy if given the right environment.

I had an ebli in the early 90's with soft corals he was not an issue. Very shy intially, but once it figured out were the food was coming from it came out more often. Had it with a clarkii and a flame hawk amongst others.

Thanks people. Coral beauties are very popular and beautiful I admit. Theres just something I really like about the eibli. When they are nicely colored up I think they look awesome. I think I'll give one a try instead of the common cb. Thanks.......................

You know a Brazilian Flameback is an awesome fish to. I am still stiking with my CB vote over a ebli. :fun2:
