I've been seeing both of these for sale at comparable prices and comparable descriptions/specs on various e-tailer sites.

I'm having trouble figuring out what the difference is?? Did one replace the other? Is one preferable to the other?

Thanks!

The difference(only one I currently am aware of) is the 6215 adds magnet mounts to the box and do not need purchased separately. Keep in mind some store may not have simply updated the product number.

The wavebox housing parts are listed with different part #s on Tunze's website ?

The new catalog lists the housing as 6215.100 instead of 6212.100 but I am guessing there is no difference in the part

The other difference is the 6215 uses a Stream 2, 6212 used an older Stream pump. This necessitated some small changes to the housing. For all practical purposes the 2 units work the same and do the same thing, the main upgrade is the magnet holders being included and the pump was changed out of necessity since the older Streams are no longer made.
