Need to move tank from one room to another what is the best way to do this , tank is packed with corals. Fish are 1 clown, 1 extremely fast hippo tang.Tank is a 29 bio cube. Any:blownsuggestions would help.

Thanks,

get a bucket drain all water into bucket and place rare nice coral in the bucket then leave the hard stuff and some rock in the tank and move it
then pump it back in

Agree with krulee. If your rockwork is stable enough to move, just drain out all but 1" of water. The corals will be fine without water for the time it takes to move it, and as long as there's enough water left to cover the fish (a hippo tang in a 29???) they'll be OK too.

If it's too heavy/unstable to move with the rock, then use buckets/rubbermaid tubs. You can put water in them if you want to but it's probably unnecessary.

Remove coral and fish to appropriate containers with water. Put rock in a rubbermaid tub or other large container. Remove tank water and sand then move the tank.

I wouldn't move a tank with the the sand in it, never mind the rock too. It will be heavy, and could pop a seal in the tank if it gets twisted. Tanks are designed to sit on a flat level surface, not to be carried with weight in them.

Thanks a bunch, I figured thats what is in store but its best to take advice from the members who moved tanks be for. After the remolding my Hippo and clown will have a new home in a 100 or 125 gal reef.
