I'd like to try to keep a group of them, two females and one male. but i'm a little scared of introducing them. right now this fish is in a 180. I could keep all there in the 180 or move them to my 1000 gallon, there are tangs in the 1000 right now, along with a dragon eel. any suggestions/thoughts?

The 1,000 gallon would surely give them more room to "run" away in case of aggression, and would allow ample space for multiple fish to establish territories.

I recall Cortez Marine posting a video of their office display tank with multiple clarions in it... here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jpcsoxg5n7w 9 clarions in a 240 gal. Of course, this might not be for the long haul.

Nice fish! But i rather like the juv about 3-4 inches. $3600 will be a little bit expensive. The adult(over 5 inches) is cheaper than the juv. Any one knows that fish grow up fast?

I just seen one in person today and they look much better in person. Not that they look bad in pics. Nice pick up!

I would not have the marbles to try 3 clarions ina 180. I would DEFINITELY suggest the 1000 if you were gonna try it. My clarion is very peaceful with the other fish, but has a death vengeance against regal angel, and will deconstruct one in less than an hour (I know from expereince). So, I would imagine that aggression between clarions would be horrific.

That video from Cortesz is very neat, but I wonder how it would last long term. If I presume correctly, that video was very recently after collection. Once territories get established, I would imagine there would be some wars. Just speculating, though.

I have the same experience with clarion and regals, like lions and hyenas, its very starnge, but the Clarion will go after the regal in a second after it was introduced to a regal's tank!

Our experience is that more then 12 in a 240 do pretty well.
Less ....and the territorial imperative licks in.
So, we recommend 12+ clarions per tank. :]
