I would like to see pictures and information about your simple soft coral set ups with out all of the fancy gadgets and sumps. I would like to see basic sumps and sumps with refugs in them. Please list how you care for your tank, lighting and additives.

Here's the latest pic of my 40g tank i used to have. Currently dont have a tank now but i'm looking at starting another.

Anyways, 40 breeter, 4x39w t5 HO with about....40-50 lbs of rock? and lots of flow. No sump, no skimmers, nothin other than light water and flow. Ran problem free for over a year before i moved and sold it all. Most of the corals in there started as like a 1-2 inch frag and thats the growth that i got in less than a year.

All i did was do a 5g water change once a month or so, and obviously test the water regularly just to make sure everything was fine. I kinda have that "if it aint broke, dont fix it" personality and like to let things take care of themselves... And for me, that works better than using all those gadgets and additives (which i've tried with no success lol)

edit---forgot the picture :)

my 125 gallon

both setups have HO t5 setups, sumps under tanks with skimmer and fuge area full of live rock rubble and chaeto.
75 gallon has additional hang on fuge with more chaeto to help keep pods population up.

Hereis my 37gal softie reef w/ a diy sump and fuge. I've also added a phosban reactor w/ GFO. The tank is about 5 yrs old and hasnt recd any additives in over 2.5 yrs. I do a 6gal weekly water change that gives the tank all it needs. Lighting is 150w MH 14000K and 40w actinic. pics come across a little blue but is not to the naked eye. I need to play w/ the white balance on the camera.

Thanks foodog. I want to get the entire sand bed covered in ricordea but I only buy small pieces(one head) at a time. I love to grow them out.

Trust me.... It didn't always look like it does now. About 3.5 yrs ago it was entirely covered in greenhair algae due to my uneducated stupidity.
