I have a 9015 skimmer and it skims good for a while then it starts overflowing the collection cup. Any idea what may be going on with my skimmer?

I have never heard this complaint about the 9015, in fact it is usually the opposite, very dry skimmate. Have you added anything recently like amino acids or a water conditioner of some kind? Epoxy putty is also known for making skimmers overflow.

Yes, I would agree with smatter, usually for this to happen something had to be added that is causing the skimmer to overreact, it should subside after a few days of the additive not being used.

There has not been anything added to the tank for at least 3 months other than alk. and calcium. Its like the pump is on full flow and its pure water entering the cup rapidly. there is no foam bubbles.

Ah, ok, in that case the likely culprit is the stand pipe is pushed in too far so water cannot exit or the sponge is above the top of the pipe. In this way water is choking the air inlet.
