Is the Oceanis Bio Cube an acceptable tank for sea horses? My wife wants a SH tank and we have the perfect spot for one in our living room, but it has to be small. So I was looking around and found the Oceanic Bio Cube and was wondering if it would work. The tank is going on a shelf that separates our living room from our breakfast area, so I don't have room for a sump or anything like that.

It works fine but you would need to have a 29g, no smaller. Also reduce the flow a little.

I have a 29g biocube seahorse tank and it works great.

you'll probably need to do something about the temp as well. even tropical SH should be kept no warmer than 74*F to reduce the chances of bacterial infections.

one thing you can do, which kinda kills two birds w/one stone is to check the power dissipation (Watts) of the stock pump and replace it with a lower flow, more efficient pump (draws fewer Watts). repumping literally takes about 10 mins to do.

biocube runs to hot you will need a chiller

Not all run hot. My SH tank runs about 72-73F sometimes I need to heat it. I'd see what the temps are first without a chiller before you spend that kind of money. Even my reef needs to be heated which is another 29g biocube.

My house temp is rarely over 70, so won't the cube stay pretty cool? Are the lights on the cube that hot? and yes I would be looking at the 29g

Yes the equipment (lighting, etc) adds heat.
