I was watching my little 20 for a while tonight when I notices the more active of my two snails blowing what looked like smoke.

I thout it was kinda odd.. because I'd never noticed a smoking snail before.

Is the snail spawning?

Yes, it's old enough to smoke. Many snails start smoking in their, um, adolescence, before they show the external characteristics of fully adult shells. Harder to nail that point down among the Trochoidea, but they will often start spawning when they are only a fraction of the size of the largest snails in a population. Yours looks to be fully adult, though.

Cheers,

Don

Man it looked neet in the tank... It looked like it could have blown smoke rings at times.
