I don't even know how reliable it would be, but I am also curious to hear from others.
I don't think it would be necessary as long as you test frequently enough, don't overfeed, have proper filtration, etc

Me neither, just saw it at a LFS the other day and wondered if anyone's used it. I also wonder at what thresholds the color changes.

I used it in a QT tank and it never changed from the "safe" color. It seems like it's too easy so I don't trust it.

These do work. Most that raise clowns and other marine fish use them. If you have a tank that does not have filtration, like with small fry, this is a good investment.

I've seen them in action and they seemed to do exactly what they said they would.

Yes, they do work. I always use them on QT's.
