Hello,

75 mixed reef tank with aquactinics tx5 lighting.

Wanting to add bta. Have some nice leathers and a single clam that I worry about stinging and losing.

Any one have success/failures in mixed reef?

I have 2 BTAs in a mixed 75, no problems just give them space.

have one in my mixed reef. it just found place it liked & i moved everything away to prevent trouble. had for about 3 years though 2 of those was when i had in 75. has stung & killed one head on frogspawn that is a little close when current is moving a certain way

I keep several in my mixed 75 gal with no problems. They occupy about a quarter of the tank. I just keep everything out of their way!

I've had " ROSIE" for 4 years and I have divided it twice and will be doing it again soon.

I have had no problems with mine in a 75. Like others have said, just give them room.

Once they are settled they will not move unless perturbed. This can be a nice addition up until the day they mow over something else in your tank. I usually have one in my tank but it is isolated on an island rock so it can't get too far.

I keep a couple BTA's on islands as well. Also they like to find a high spot closer to the light with good flow and a hole to put their foot in. Once mine find a spot they like they seem to stay put.

I've always had nems w/ reef.
I actually prefer sand dwellars to keep wandering nems at least at the bottom of tank and away from sps.
Most of my corals down below are easy to move just in case.
This was my 180g, and my so far fav mixed tank w/ nems
I had these guys for 5.5 years till I downsized my system, and they went w/ it.

Condilactis usually move more than bubble tips. If you are worried about stings, you should avoid them.

i think the limiting factor is your lighting. how deep is the tank?.. altough I run a constellation and can keep anyting under it.
