I have a filter floss section in my sump after the skimmer section. I typically change the floss twice a week. I installed a phosban reactor last week and now the floss is completly cloged everyday. I have the flow set so the media at the top is just moving a bit. The media at the bottom doesn't look like it moves at all. The water above the media is clear. Is this common?

Did you rinse the media before putting it in the reactor? If not it will release a lot of dust when first put on line. Even if it was rinsed it may still release some dust

Yes, I rinsed it in a bucket until it looked clear. Plus this has been running for a week now and I have changed the floss almost everyday. I'm afraid to reduce the flow any more and the water at the top half of the reactor looks clear anyway. If I turn off the reactor for a few days to see if that is in fact the cause, will the media still be good. I would think not.
