sump help

Hey guys, and gals, I'm on my blackberry and searching is a PIA otherwise I would search.

I'm looking for some good threads on building a sump, IE baffle placement. My configuration will be skimmer, fuge, return pump. Skimmer will be a bubble magus NAC6 and the return pump will be an eheim 1250. I want to maximize the fuge so I would want the skimmer and return pump sections as small as possible.

Also, any hints or tricks to applying the silicone between baffles?
